NSA/DOD Approved Hard Drive & Tape Degausser
The GDT-1400NSA is a powerful rare earth permanent magnet degausser. The patented magnetic design ensures complete erasure of data from tape and hard disk drives, including perpendicular media. The height adjustable stand with wheels allow the GDT-1400NSA to be easily positioned and the wheels allow the GDT- 1400NSA to be easily relocated within your complex.
NSA/DOD Approved:
The GDT-1400NSA meets the Department of Defense requirements for destroying magnetically recorded data on hard disks drives up to 5300 Oe and tape media up to 2600 Oe. Permanently erases 2.5" & 3.5" hard drives up to 1" in height, and tape formats including SDLT, DLT, LTO/LTO2, DAT, TRAVAN, AIT, QIC, 8mm and more.
GDT-1400NSA Operations:
The GDT-1400NSA erases media by passing the media through a large magnetic field. When powered by electricity, the GDT-1400NSA will automatically transport the media through the magnetic field, rotate the media 90 degrees, and then pass the media back through the field. When operated without electricity, the transport mechanisms are manually powered by a hand crank located on the back of the GDT-1400NSA.
Government Mandates:
The GDT-1400NSA will assist you in meeting compliance standards for government mandates requiring complete elimination of sensitive information stored on magnetic media prior to re-use or disposal.
